Another trip in the way-back machine for today’s perfume of the day. The original Estee Lauder White Linen is from 1978, and was no doubt a bit unusual for its time. It’s understated, clean and fresh, and really grows on you over time. In the past few years, Estee Lauder has launched extensions to the White Linen brand with Pure White Linen and Pure White Linen Fresh Breeze (phew). A modern day version is Benefit’s Maybe Baby. Although the aldehydes are not listed in the Estee Lauder description, they are there as well and feature prominently.
Top Notes: Bulgarian Rose, Jasmine, Muguet
Middle Notes: Violet, Orris
Base Notes: Vetiver, Moss
Compare this with Basenotes’ attributes and it is similar but I feel Basenotes is more accurate.
Aldehydes. Citrus Notes, Peach
Rose, Jasmine, Lilac, Orris, Muguet, Ylang-Ylang .
Cedar, Honey, Amber, Civet, Sandal, Tonka Bean.
It’s affordable enough to make it your everyday, go-to fragrance. Find it at Estee Lauder.com
