I can’t say enough good things about the ultimate relaxing power of a good bubble bath – especially during this time of year. When the winter blues start taking their toll and it feels like Spring is still so far away, grab some really fragrant bubble bath essentials, close the door, and enjoy.
Here’s what I make sure to have around for a good bubble bath -
Lush Comforter Bubble Bar
I wasn’t kidding when I said ‘fragrant’. There may be times where Mr. Bubble will do the trick, but when it’s time to create the perfect bubble bath experience, you’re going to need something a little stronger. If Lush ever decides to stop making their Comforter Bubble Bar, that will be a sad day. Not too sweet smelling, but distinctive and girlie, I feel more relaxed the moment I pull one out of my cabinet.
Build a ten song playlist of the music you enjoy most. If you are a hard rock fan, go for it! Indie pop your thing? I’m not here to tell you what to listen to. The music you chose should complement your mood and make you feel happy – after all, that’s what your bath is all about!
I always have a book with me – but I will admit that I rarely make it very far when I’m taking a bubble bath. But for some, this is the perfect time for reading – I suggest bringing a book with you just in case the mood strikes. No one says you have to start reading just because it’s there.
Hair Repair Treatment
This is a great time to do something about those split ends. Aveda has an excellent Moisturizing Treatment Masque, perfect for this moment of pure indulgence. Even if you don’t have anything to treat your hair, make sure you lather up before or after your shower – nothing will fizzle your post-bath bliss like a greasy scalp.
Scrub, Scrub, Scrub
As your skin is soaking, it makes sense to spend some extra time exfoliating. There are a number of different sponges, clothes, brushes and other tools to scrub away dead skin – pick the one that’s right for you.
