Stephen Sprouse for Louis Vuitton

The late, great designer Stephen Sprouse is once again the inspiration for Marc Jacobs and fashion house Louis Vuitton. Stephen Sprouse made art and clothing that captured the mood of the eighties and Jacobs, who is the artistic director at Louis Vuitton, is a big fan. The new Stephen Sprouse collection is a highly coveted, limited edition collection. In fact, the previous Stephen Sprouse collections sold out in minutes!

The iconic Louis Vuitton Speedy 30 is glammed up with the Stephen Sprouse signature touch. The Monogram Rose Canvas Speedy 30 is screen printed with a fluorescent rose pattern, creating the look of a brush painting. Features of the bag include all the details found in the regular Speedy which are; natural cowhide leather trim, golden brass hardware and rounded leather handles. Monogram Rose Canvas Speedy 30 measures a generous 11.8″ L x 8.3″ W and has a zip top closure. The interior has pink striped textile lining and an interior flap pocket. Available now at eLuxury for $1310

Another bag from this collection is the Monogram Rose Neverfull MM. This tote also has the screen-printed fluorescent roses on the signature Louis Vuitton monogram canvas fabric. The Neverfull MM measures 12.5″ L x 11.5″ H x 6.5″ W and featuers thin leather handles, smooth cowhide trim and golden brass hardware found on almost all Louis Vuitton bags.  Available now at eLuxry for $1360

I really want to love these bags.

I have a speedy with the cherries from a few seasons ago, and while I loved it at the time, I’m not sure the fashion statement lasted long enough to justify the expense.

    Sure are pretty, though.

I’m actually not a fan of these bags. I guess it must have something to do with the fact that I don’t like rose. However, I do like how it looks like the roses were painted on.

Mary Jo – It’s definitely geared towards the LV collector. A piece of art, even. Though, I think most people buy ‘em only to turn around & sell it to the highest bidder.

Chaucee – Yes, the roses are quite ‘loud’, eh? But that’s Stephen Sprouse’s style, very glam rock & roll. :)
