Product Review: Maybelline Lash Stiletto Mascara

I’ll admit it…I’m a mascara addict. In fact, if there were only one makeup item on earth that I couldn’t live without, it would be mascara, hands down. Every morning, as I carefully apply my face, I thank the makeup Gods for mascara and whoever invented it. I’m not kidding.

So…with all this mascara loving going on in my life, you can bet that when I had the opportunity to try the new Maybelline Lash Stiletto, I just about died and went to heaven. But would this much-hyped new product make my lashes smile…or would it be a flop?

The verdict: I LOVE IT!

This mascara is absolutely fab. It’s even better when you realize you’re only going to have to shell out about $7-$8 for your own tube!

The wand, I think, is one of the better wands I’ve used in a while. It really promotes the lengthening aspect of this stuff and makes your lashes separate without any clumping – no small feat for any mascara, for sure.

It comes in the standard colors (Soft Black, Black/Brown, Very Black, etc) and the tube itself is a total riot – it looks like a stiletto heel!

The formula is silky, not sticky, and I experienced no problems with smudging, flaking or irritation. The little bit I did manage to get on my eyelid during application easily wiped off with a Q-Tip dipped in good old fashioned saliva. Fantastic!

Overall, I rate this mascara a total keeper. It’s definitely worth a try and definitely deserves a spot in your makeup drawer. Check it out!

It would be nice to know what you think about it in 3 weeks. I find that mascara is always great the first week or two, and then it can go pretty bad pretty fast.

After passing up on this mascara time and time again, I finally caved the other night. This is amazing. People say it only gives them length and no volume, but as you can tell by my pictures, you can get plenty of boths. No flakes, SO SO easy to wash off, and fairly inexpensive. I love it!!!

Great review–I love this product and you did it justice. As a reviewer for Meg’s, I feel compelled to pass this along–grab hold of Revlon’s magic “Makeup Remover” pen. No one knows or can figure out how it works, but it does. It will correct all makeup mistakes, small and large, without any oily residue, far more sanitary than saliva. Forgive me, as I mean no wrong. I just wanted to make sure your audience enjoyed your perfect review! God Bless, Gigi

I’m always trying new mascara and when the Maybeline Lash Stiletto came out I had to give it a try. I DO NOT LIKE IT AT ALL!. It flaked off and I was SO embarrased at the office talking to people with all these little black flecks on my cheeks.

Joann, I totally agree. I DON’T LIKE IT AT ALL… In fact, I’m getting ready to do yard work and that’s just about all it’s good for. I had to give it a try and it did nothing for my lashes. My lashes are usually pretty nice, but with this it flaked, made them look thin and stubby! Perhaps that’s why I’ve used L’oreal Voluminous forever it’s amazing. It is so good, I don’t even know why I wasted my money trying out the Stiletto!! I am happy, however, to know that it does work well for some!

I love wearing eye mascara too and can’t wait to try Maybelline Lash Stiletto Mascara. Great post!

I bought this because I couldn’t find L’Oreal Architect anywhere. I tried Voluminous, but it made my eyelash curler curled eyelashes go straight.
Stiletto I tried next. Success! My eyelashes have stayed perfectly curled and they DO seem longer. If you like the effect of starburst spikes around your eyes, but not clumpy or “thick” looking mascara, this is it. It doesn’t create big clumps of lashes, but just looks very natural. I’m liking it a lot!
It’s not the thick look that I had with Architect, but I am thinking that this more natural look is perhaps more attractive. Doesn’t look like I am “trying” so hard with my mascara. A good thing at my age to not look like I am desperate to look good!(50 something) It just gives me long, dark, curled lashes and no smudging.

I agree w/ u… As for as lthe look I get & easy removal, I love this mascara. My eyelashes are long anyway so there is a downside… when I use the beauty tubes, people ask if my lashes are fake. Lol. But I must admit I have a problem sometimes covering all of the white. That’s probably bc I do both eyelashes w/ the white first so it dries somewhat. So I can’t really complain if I’m not following directions. One other thing, the black seems to “dry” out in the tube b4 all the white is gone. Anyone experienced that? The first tube I bought was a BOGO free offer at Rite-aid. So I gave on to my mom. Her natural lashes are practically invisible! But after trying this, she was no longer considering Latisse. Now that’s something.

I have bought this mascara continuously for the last couple of months. I don’t understand how people can say it does not work? I get amazing results and get so many compliments on my eyelashes asking if they’re false! I couldn’t imagine using anything else!
