The Keratin Treatment – Now with Collagen!

I have done just about everything to my hair – at-home relaxers, Japanese straightenings, keratin…and I’m always out for that “next big thing”.

p1000782I think I found it!

Two years after Brazilian Keratin treatments appeared on our shores, it’s been improved – in the form of La Brasiliana!

Armando Petruccelli, President of Hair Color Research Group, Inc. in New York, the parent company of La Brasiliana, invited me to his teaching studio to try the treatment first hand last week.

I am hooked.

La-Brasiliana Keratin treatment with collagen is keratin based: For those of you who don’t already know, Keratin is the primary protein of the hair, skin, and nails. The Keratin in our hair gives it the ability to return to its original healthy, shiny, smooth state while collagen improves the elasticity of the hair.

midprocessIt’s not really a relaxer – it’s more of a de-frizzer, but, La-Brasiliana Keratin treatment with Collagen replenishes the condition of the hair without damage or change to the molecular structure. The treatment can be used on all hair types such as chemically treated hair, colored, permed, relaxed, straightened, highlighted, and bleached – even kids’ hair!!! (Over eight years of age.)

I am sharing pix, so you can see how awesome the process went, but I know you want the nitty gritty:

The application process takes anywhere from 1.5 to 4 hours depending on the length and thickness of the hair. After application of the product, it is infused with a 450 degree flat iron, which seals in moisture, hydrates the hair, and creates a glossy finish.

And, for those of you who can’t deal with delayed gratification: Results are visible immediately after treatment is completed. Hair looks shiny, beautiful and youthful.p1000783

Even better, it requires very few “rules” after the treatment. You should avoid hair products with sodium in it (it pulls the keratin back out!!!) and the process will slowly shampoo out over a few months. But you’ll notice quickly your hair is just sleeker and way easier to take care of.

So, here’s all the pix of me…what do you think??? Do I make a good model?

I got this done today! I’m so pleased, however she told me some rules, that i cant wash my hair for 4 days and to not create a crease (by putting it up or clipping it) for 4 days and I have to use a special shampoo and conditioner for it. I’m so excited to actually style my hair myself!
