Beauty Buzz from Mexico!

So, as you know, I’m currently in unbelievably gorgeous Los Cabos, learning – and eating – everything there is to offer!

And it turns out, the Mexicans share my fervent passion for all things beauty. In fact, here the edict is that taking care of your skin is a year round regime, but in the summer it is front and center as clothes get smaller and more skin is revealed.

Whether you lie out in the sun to achieve your glowing complexion, or need to fake it with products, the skincare experts at Ultrafemme, Mexico’s premier beauty retailer with 24 locations throughout Cancun, Riviera Maya and Los Cabos, have been a godsend, and offer tons of advice on looking hot and still caring for our skin. (Which, you know, is a constant obsession of mine!)

Sun-Kissed Skin
A lot of us can’t necessarily get out during the optimal hours to get some sun – and if we can, it doesn’t necessarily mean our skin is tan-ready. If you can’t get outside to obtain a summer glow, a flushed-from-the-sun look is easy to achieve by investing in a good bronzer. For lighter skin tones, use a product like Chanel’s limited edition Powder Blush in Fandango, which is halfway between a blush and a bronzer. Those with darker skin should apply a bronzer such as Guerlain’s best-selling Terracotta range.

Fresh-Faced Chic
I have a pretty natural rosey flush, and I tend to accentuate that rather than showing off a tan that isn’t necessarily there. I can do that by going for the “barely there” look instead of wearing a lot of makeup. Start by creating a natural, matte base with a product like Dior’s Diorskin Nude Loose Powder Foundation then focus on your eyes by slicking on some black mascara. To finish off the look, paint your lips with a gloss such as Clarin’s new Instant Gloss Magic Colour, it changes shade according to your skin’s PH level, creating a natural pink that is unique to you.

I hope this advice helps! I’m off to go enjoy another margarita!
