Everyone has their bad reality television guilty pleasure. Mine is The Hills.
And thus, when Whitney Port moved on to The City, I had to watch. So, obviously, when she launches a fashion line, I’m totally going to be interested. And when she presents her Spring 2010 collection at NYFW, well, ditto.
I’ll cover the clothes at Shopaholics Daily shortly, but for the face, makeup artist Tina Turnbow used NYX to create Alice in Wonderland-inspired looks.
Here’s how to steal the Whitney-esque models’s runway look:
Big lashes played a major role, and Tina used Nyx Professional Makeup’s Doll Eye Mascara in Volume to create, big open eyes. For extra definition, the model’s eyes were lined with Nyx Professional Makeup’s Felt Tip Eyeliner in Black, with a sexy cat-eye swoop.
When creating the look for the eyes, Tina wanted the models’ eyes to pop on the runway, and went for colorful. She used Nyx Professional Makeup’s Single Eyeshadows in three steps:
- Eyelid – Sweep the White Pearl shadow up to the crease to make eyes pop
- Crease – Use the Golden shade to highlight and add shimmer
- Contour – Add definition above the crease to the brow bone with shadow in Burgundy Pearl
As this was about a whimsical feel, the cheeks were girlishly flushed. This was done by mixing Nyx Professional Makeup’s Rouge Cream Blush in Glow and Hot Pink to apples and contours of the cheek. Finally, the lips were completed with Nyx Professional Makeup’s Black Label Lipstick in Volcano – a bright, sunny coral shade.
The finished product – spectacular. The clothes were pretty darn fine too – more on that on my ShopaholicsDaily blog!
