During Fashion Week, I’m grateful whenever I can escape busy Bryant Park, grab a decent snack, and put down the cumbersome magazine, water, and swag-filled bags I’ve accumulated.
Luckily for me (and other writers, bloggers, and editors covering the shows), the Fall 2010 season hosted some of the best media lounges yet. Here’s a recap of a few of the great products and services offered at each lounge:
My first stop was to a Twitter party at stylist and television personality Robert Verdi’s “The Future of Fashion” lounge. There, I met Miss J. Alexander of “America’s Next Top Model Fame,” who is just as loveably wacky as he is on TV.
During the tweet session, bloggers and editors were introduced to the Ginger + Liz colour collection of organic, toxin-free nail lacquer; ShaToBu calorie burning shape wear; and the BluePrint Cleanse (I was gifted a certificate for a three-day cleanse and will let you know how it works).
On to the Haute Lounge, where I discovered perhaps the best anti-aging skin care regimen ever. Seriously, Actifirm is just that good. Stay tuned for a full review of the four-step, antioxidant skin care system.
Initially, I was skeptical. I thought airbrushed makeup would look caked on and heavy. But thanks to Temptu’s surprisingly light, smooth, and even coverage applied by rockin’ makeup artist Dani Fonseca, I was ready for my close-up. I also received a fab manicure and chair massage by Spa Chicks On-The Go.
My last lounge stop was at the Beauty Bar/Daily Suite at the luxe Townhouse Spa. After a busy week spent running back and forth to the Tents, my tired and woefully neglected feet were thankful for the pampering pedicure.
