Marie Claire UK seems to think so. They ran a profile of Fatima Ptacek, a nine year old from Queens who has appeared in ads for Gap, Benetton, and Ralph Lauren, in addition to more than fifty commercials. Like many models, she’s eager to make the jump to acting and will appear in the Catherine Zeta-Jones movie The Rebound, which opens later this year. Lest you be jealous of the fact that a nine year old is more successful and probably richer than you, don’t worry, it gets better:
Not just a pretty face, Fatima studies at a school for gifted children in New York, counts US First lady Michelle Obama as a pen pal and is working on her third language.
‘She always tells us that even though she has all this money for a head start in life she is going to make sure she gets a scholarship to Yale or Harvard,’ said her mother Lucia, 34. ‘And she says that one day she will be the first female president.’
Well, any chance of competing with this girl is over for me. Time to go back to drinking at the office. That’s where I’m a Viking!
That said, if she’s truly a supermodel, I’d like to know which fifteen-year-old druggie rock star she is dating, whether she has a coke problem yet, and whether she and Elle Fanning have brawled backstage. If you’re going to call someone a supermodel, there are certain criteria.
