Grazia Is Trying to Make ‘Blonette’ Happen

Not quite blonde. Not quite brunette. Grazia has coined the word “blonette” to describe hair that falls in that odd hinterland between yellow and brown. They cite Leighton Meester, Miley Cyrus, and Natalie Portman (pictured) as examples of the trend.

Well, I guess it’s better than “dirty blonde,” which I always hated.

This just looks brown to me.

Didn’t this used to be called “bronde”?

Oh, see I love being called a dirty blonde. Or calling my man (who also has that hair color) a dirty blonde, especially with underquotes: “Baby, you’re a ,,dirty blonde,, and you know it.” Hee!

I like to think I’m reclaiming the term for all of not-quite-blonde-not-quite-brunettes out there. Dirty Blonde Pride!

I always just call it bronde..
But that might be a bit too similar to blonde.

My natural hair colour is probably a shade or so lighter than this and whenever I go to a hairdresser they say my natural colour is very dark blonde but no one really calls me this unless I have highlights
