Pennsylvania state senator Anthony Williams is a native of West Philadelphia (cue the “Fresh Prince of Bel Air” theme song) and wants to combat crime in his hometown. How does he plan to do that? By prosecuting “white tee culture.” Apparently, kids on the corner who are standing around loitering or whatever like to wear big plain white T-shirts, and Williams thinks that by getting rid of the shirts, and then the kids, he’ll then get rid of crime. Not sure the math works for me, but whatever. I like Philly a lot, but I have to admit that this entire article just made me think of the episode of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia where Dennis and Dee try to become crackheads so they can get on welfare. I would like to point out that neither of them is wearing a white shirt in this episode, so maybe Williams’ theory doesn’t hold water.
