In her column in the August issue of InStyle (the one with Courteney Cox on the cover), actress and fake job haver Rachel Bilson mentions that she loves bodysuits – the ones that are basically leotards with snaps at the crotch – and hopes they’ll come back in style. “Bodysuits are so versatile,” she writes. “I love pairing them with denim shorts.”
There are many words that come to mind when thinking of bodysuits – impractical, uncomfortable, wedgie inducing – but versatile isn’t one of them. They’re just a top. Like any other top, you can wear them with pants, skirts, or even denim shorts. But if bodysuits are versatile, then so is every blouse I’ve ever owned. Oh, and the bodysuit she recommends is $112. No thanks.
