Silly Bandz, the plastic bracelets that started as a kids’ fad and are now being spotted on the wrists of respected fashionistas, have officially hit the big time. That’s right: they’re being knocked off. A company called Meshuga Bands (“Meshuga” is Yiddish for “has a case of the crazy”) makes similar stretchy bracelets, but instead of being shaped like seashells or Birkin bags, they come in bubbe-approved shapes like Stars of David and Torahs. You can get a set for five dollars on the Meshuga Bands website. Hurry up before the inevitable lawsuit makes them shut down.
[Oh, and I have no idea if the bracelets are actually kosher. I mean, I would advise against eating them without a rabbi's approval.]
