R&B singer Fantasia has joined the ranks of celebrities who have made sex tapes. However, hers is a particular exception. Instead of making money off of it (see: Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian), she stands to lose a lot of money from it. Why? The tape was made with Fantasia’s boyfriend, who is in the middle of a divorce. The tape was made while he was still married. And the state in which this all took place, North Carolina, is one of a few remaining states where adultery is illegal and something you can sue another person over. That’s right, everyone: Fantasia’s boyfriend’s wife can sue Fantasia for “alienation of affection” and possibly end up with a hefty settlement if she wins. Next time, Fantasia, have your lawyer recommend a state with less harsh laws about marital infidelity.
