This Is The Paris Rugby Team’s Uniform

Forget Jersey Couture, in France, they have couture jerseys. This is the new uniform of the French Rugby Team Stade Francais. According to Time:

The new shirt—one of three official game jerseys—has been dubbed “The Crowd”, and was described on the team’s website as being “a tribute to all those who love Stade Français, notably its fans”.

Personally, I love it. And it reminds me of the quote from Catch Me If You Can that the Yankees always win because the other team is too busy looking at their pinstripes. But then, there are those who claim it’s a “marketing monstrosity.” Do you think it’s too garish for a professional sports-team to be wearing?

Those who have seen Stade Francais play before will probably be fairly unsurprised by this jersey to be honest. This is the rugby team known for playing in bright pink jerseys, and in the past there have been many colourful…fashion moments. Including a sort of marshmallow tie-dyed hot pink and blue number. Some people probably do find it too garish, but this team has been around for a while and let’s face it, it takes a real man to wear this jersey with pride. Right?

I should tell you… if you’ve watched Stade Francais before (whether live or on the telly), you’ll know that the players can do no wrong in whatever they wear… because nobody looks at their clothes.. all the men concentrate on the actual play, and the women look at the player’s faces.. Yes. Just their faces. Rumor has it that the managers hire players according to their attractiveness. I tend to agree. Go! And search up Stade Francais players on google, and you’ll see why!
