Ali Fedotowsky, the newest graduate of The Bachelorette, tells People that if only she had the freedom to do so, she would forgo fancy nuptials:
“The Bachelorette star admits if it weren’t for disappointing the couple’s relatives, she and Martinez would go off and elope.”
Yes, of course — because of disappointing her relatives. Not because her relationship, engagement and, likely, wedding are all part of a contract. Anyway, call me old-fashioned, but I still find it somewhat amusing that after all the engagements and so few weddings, the Bachelors and Bachelorettes are still convicing America that what they have is real! Yes, we are all so smitten with the sweep-you-off-your feet fairy tale that we’re willing to believe just about anything, including that a relationship that starts with someone dating 20 people at once, on national television, has a snowball’s chance in hell of working out.
