If You Want to Burn Your Ex’s Pictures, Try Not to Get Charged With Arson

Hey, we’ve all been there: you want to torch everything that reminds you of your ex. But if you’ve decided to take a match to his photographs, you should try to avoid burning down your entire apartment building. Jonathan Sanchez Jimenez of Hollywood, Florida, was charged with arson and aggravated assault for burning pictures of his girlfriend in the apartment they shared. While no one else’s apartment burned, the fact that he put everyone in danger was enough for him to get charged. Though he’s not going to go to jail, he has been ordered to stay at least 500 feet away from the apartment building. So where is he going to live now? And will those residents sue him for possible arson and get him kicked out, thus setting off an Odyssey-esque story where he can never return to his homeland?
