So I’m trying to keep the Score in the well under-$100 range because, well, before I moved to New York I probably wouldn’t have considered a $90 skirt a total steal. So yeah, keeping items closer to $50 is really what I’m aiming for, but I’ll make use of that <99 buffer if I think something is a really good deal; for example, a significant markdown or something special–let’s say a great or unusual material–you wouldn’t ordinarily find in that price range.
So, admittedly, at $97.50, Allsaints’ Aphrodite dress is kind of pushing it. But you know what’s almost impossible to find under $100? Chic draping. That’s right, a great dress with flattering, ultra-feminine draping is a challenge to manufacture, but Allsaints gets around the problem by using economical jersey.
