Dinner With Your Husband and His Hooker: Good Idea or Bad Idea?

The day’s biggest news story has been Charlie Sheen’s hookers-and-blow extravaganza in New York’s Plaza Hotel. While reporting about hookers and blow is always entertaining, my favorite part of the story is this one: Sheen reportedly had dinner that evening with his ex-wife Denise Richards and the hooker he’d hired. While I am all for exes remaining on good terms with each other post-breakup, I don’t know if I could bring myself to go out with my ex and his lady of the evening. What do you think?

Sorry! This poll is now closed.

Random thought this question inspired: If you take a hooker to dinner, do you pay her for her time or is paying for the meal enough? And if you do pay her for her time, is it at the same rate you would pay her for sex, or a reduced rate since all she has to do is sit there, eat, and make small talk? Or, considering “making small talk” involves chatting with Denise Richards and Charlie Sheen, maybe you pay her at a higher rate than you would for sex?

My understanding is that if she’s the kind of hooker you would take out to dinner in a fancy restaurant (not just picking up burgers at a drive-through) that’s considered part of the service. I also think that those hookers don’t charge by the hour but rather by the event.
However, if I were a hooker I would charge extra to be at a dinner with a man and his ex-wife if they were as unamicable as those two.
