Sassy Is Back!

Or something like Sassy. Jane Pratt – the founder of Sassy and Jane, two of our favorite magazines – and Tavi – who is, well, Tavi – are collaborating to start a new magazine for teenage girls. According to Tavi:

It won’t be Sassy (or the rebirth of Sassy, or Sassy 2.0) and nor do we want it to be. For one, you can’t try to recreate something that good. For another, the world has changed a bit in the past 15 or so years, and that whole Internet thing happened, and this world calls for something different. Something that will use Sassy as a point of reference for the whole teen-magazine-that-doesn’t-suck thing, and something in which Jane Pratt will take part, but something that is not trying to recreate the other something a bunch of us love and don’t want to see copied.

So it’s going to be exactly like Sassy, right? Yeah? Cool! Best news of the day! Whatever it ends up being, we’ll probably end up reading it.

I’m a little anti-Tavi, but I mourn Jane folding whenever I feel like reading a women’s mag that isn’t just more of the same drivel. I have my fingers crossed that this new mag will be awesome, and that it won’t be too young for me as a twenty-something!

so tavi is what like 13 at the most i believe she is even younger than that and she is pretending like she was a reader of sassy…that wasnt even in publication when she was born much less during a time when she could read it. that brat just irks me. i would love to see a sassy mag rebirth but not with her having anything to do with it

She is more like 14 now anyway.
I’m 15 but I’ve a lot of french magazine Lire from 1994-1999. (also, Science & Vie, La Recherche, but more from early-2000)
Books! They are so much like clothes, you can even buy them used!
It’s not something I’d do with food, though.
