Katie Holmes Works out on Her Birthday – Would You?

Katie Holmes just celebrated her 32nd birthday. As an insanely rich celebrity, what do you think she did on her big day? No, she didn’t go on a shopping spree. No, she didn’t have a giant star-studded party where she rode in on an elephant. She went to spin class.

Don’t get me wrong – while spinning isn’t my preferred form of exercise, I can’t imagine hitting the gym on my birthday. Katie also went out for dinner and drinks, which sounds more my speed, after exercising. There’s nothing wrong with enjoying working out and wanting to stay in shape. But birthdays are supposed to be about fattening food and drinking and dancing on tables and shit. I don’t want to hit the gym, I want to hit the ground running. Preferably while holding a cocktail.

      My favourite workout is a long, slow run. It’s a good activity for introspection, so I find it really appropriate to start my birthday with a run. THEN celebrate!
