7 Things Not To Give Someone After Their Breakup

When someone goes through a break-up, there are a number of things they may want from their friends. Sympathy. Support. A willingness to go down the proverbial rabbit hole with them for just one night.

But there are also a number of things they won’t want. Here are seven of them:

  1. A book with “…For One” anywhere in the title
  2. Unsolicited advice, about anything
  3. A year’s subscription to eHarmony
  4. Pity
  5. The boyfriend body pillow
  6. Anything that will remind her of the relationship. Don’t go all nostalgia on her. She’s doing that enough herself.
  7. The constant presence of your significant other every time you get together. Seriously.

When I got divorced, a friend gave me a copy of He’s Just Not That Into You. That may apply to the guy you met at the bar last week, but your husband? No thanks!
