This Month, From Gwyneth: How to Dress Your Kids

At this point, I feel I would be remiss if I didn’t let you know that Gwyneth Paltrow has descended from her saintly perch once again to bestow more of her pearls of wisdom upon us, her equals. This month in GOOP, Gwynnie suggests some cost-conscious ways to dress your tykes…in $82 “Summer Loungewear,” for instance (Apple’s favorite!).

OK — to her credit, some of these clothes are really adorable (I mean, you can’t hate baby t-shirts with elephant ears on the shoulders).

But my favorite line from the newsletter this month actually has nothing to do with how cute the clothes are or how much they cost, but rather with the inspiration behind one of the businesses:

Cecily, a mother of four, developed Sogoodnight for her four children, when faced with the problem of finding quality pjs while living in southwestern France.

PJs in Southwestern France! It is indeed a conundrum, and I’m sure I speak for each one of you when I say, we’ve all been there.

I’m stumped as to is the most disgusting: Gwynnie with her snottiness or Leann Rimes with her silliness. Gwynnie declared when she met and married Chris Martin that she loved living in England because it was so much more civilized than the U.S. Why isn’t she still there, for God’s sake, sparing all of us from her tossed crumbs?

oh, yes, baby clothes that will be worn for generations! Fortunately, my grandmother was wise enough to invest in good baby clothes during the 1940s, so my babies will never need any new clothes. There’s nothing weird about that.
