Abercrombie & Fitch Selling Push-Up Bikini Tops For 7-Year Old Girls

Hot on the heels of yesterday’s hopefully fake but certainly horrible news that a woman in the UK was injecting her 8 year old daughter with Botox to help her entertainment career, the world has discovered a push-up bikini top on sale over at Abercrombie & Fitch Kids. Yes, the same manufacturer of thongs for 7 year olds that said said “Eye Candy” on them.

I find the idea of a little kid in a bikini kind of off-putting to begin with (am I crazy? old fashioned?) but one that purposefully emphasizes a non-existent bust is flat out gross. I almost hope this is just a ploy for publicity and no one actually thought a product like this was a fine idea.

This is part of the reason why young kids, especially girls, are maturing and growing up faster (the other part are the parents, like that horrific mother who made her 8 year old get botox). What was A&F thinking with this?

I wore a bikini when I was a little kid and didn’t think anything of it – of course, it wasn’t a “sexy” bikini, just a regular kid’s bathing suit with the middle cut out. Least self-conscious I’ve ever been in a bikini. But yeah, I agree, a push-up top for a kid is a stupid idea.

Coming soon: the Borat mankini for small boys!

(Also, A&F, this is hardly the point you should be concentrating on, but non-wired triangle bikinis don’t so much push as drag).

Hmmm, whether A&F made a quick edit or this was a ploy for more attention, I don’t know, but the item on the website does not currently say “padded” in the description and “push-up triangle” now says “striped triangle”
