Kate Middleton’s Wedding Dress By Sarah Burton For Alexander McQueen

As we all figured. And the official explanation is:

“Miss Middleton chose British brand Alexander McQueen for the beauty of its craftsmanship and its respect for traditional workmanship and the technical construction of clothing,” the palace said in a statement. “Miss Middleton wished for her dress to combine tradition and modernity with the artistic vision that characterizes Alexander McQueen’s work. Miss Middleton worked closely with Sarah Burton in formulating the design of her dress.”

My jaw dropped when I first saw pictures of the dress this morning. It’s stunning.

I don’t think it could be more perfect and I don’t think she could look more beautiful Stunners!

I have to say that I’m a bit disappointed in the dress. I was looking forward to a more modern look. I think Pippa upstaged the bride.

She looks gorgeous, and the dress is beautiful, but it kind of looks exactly the same as a number of dresses we’ve already seen her in – just fancier.

That said, it’s probably because that style of dress is what she thinks looks best on her and what she feels most confident in, so I can understand it. I just wish it had been less predictable.

I think it’s lovely! Maybe this will turn the tide back away from all those strapless bridal dresses which are the current trend. Face it – very few women can sucessfully pull off the strapless look. Thank you Kate for looking elegant, modern but appropriately conservative all at the same time!

It reminds me of Princess Grace’s wedding dress, only a bit less conservative. I thought she struck a nice balance between something that looks beautiful and classic and something that seems comfortable and well suited to her taste.
