Isabeli Fontana In Vogue Paris Is Identical To Linda Evangelista In Vogue Italia… From 1989

Isabeli Fontana snagged the June 2011 cover of Vogue Paris as shot by Mert & Marcus and styled by Emmanuelle Alt. When images from the shoot made it online, we actually mistook it for a similarly sweaty Vogue Italia editorial from the late ’80s starring a hoop-earringed Linda Evangelista as shot by Steven Meisel. We’re not the only ones who made the connection, but on closer inspection, it’s pretty obvious that Mert & Marcus are just paying tribute to Steven “The Greatest” Meisel and not trying to pull a fast one on us. Unless it’s an eerie coincidence and both shoots just randomly employed prominent brows, sex on cars and outdoor mattresses.

Anyway, let’s have fun looking at some shots side by side.

vogue is consistent in there cover girl models. Not like Maxim were in there main purpose was just to publish familiar faces by which the model was being the cover girl for like two or three times in one year.

This is completely nuts! I really just can’t believe that they are sooo similar. Were they trying to create the old spread? Or have they jsut officially run out of ideas?

Ok… I’m sorry. Obviously Ashley, I didn’t read the beginning. I jumped straight to the pictures. SORRY!
