First Gay Couples Legally Wed In New York

Yay, New York! Today marked the first day that same-sex couples could legally marry in New York state, the sixth and largest state to allow marriage for all its residents.

Kitty Lambert, 54, and Cheryle Rudd, 53, pictured above, were among the first to say “I do.” They held their ceremony in front of Niagra Falls, beginning late last night, so that they could be pronounced wife and wife one second after midnight.

Marriage is supposed to be between a man and a woman, as God intended it. Anything else is simply disgusting and unholy.

All love is beautiful. I’m very happy to live in a state where all marriage is equal.

Separation of church and state means that if people want marriage to remain between man and woman only, as per the bible, then all those married need to give up their tax credits and legally granted rights that non married individuals in relationships don’t get.

Hmm… In Illinois the first couple wed was a lesbian couple as well. Is this a trend?
