Let’s Take A Moment To Appreciate Rodarte’s Amazing Vincent Van Gogh Dresses

NYFW still has some time left but it’s safe to say that one of the week’s most beloved shows belonged to Rodarte: though it touched on a few of the major trends for Spring 2012–peplums, cutouts–the collection was startlingly unique in a season of bold primary colors and clean monochrome. The Mulleavy sisters were inspired by the masterpieces of Vincent van Gogh and sent hatchmarks, sunflowers and swirling sky prints down the runway. Here’s one great snap from Getty.

I loved how Taylor swift wore the rodarte dress in vogue but some of the other dresses from his collection, not so much. I love Van Gogh’s art too but rather than Rodarte’s collection being inspired by, it was more of a regurgitation. I thought the duplication of his art as the prints were a bit much.
