Woman Left With Uniboob After Botched Plastic Surgery

Here at The Gloss, we neither endorse nor decry plastic surgery. To each his or her own, we say.

But that doesn’t mean that any old doctor should be cutting into folks, and one particularly heinous practitioner has been making headlines today for giving a woman a uniboob during a botched breast implant procedure, and also for performing eyelid surgery on her without her consent.

The surgeon in question, whose name hasn’t been released, operated on 40-year-old Dinora Rodriguez. Rodriguez’ existing boob job was beginning to leak, so she went in for a repair. But the surgeon, who she later found out wasn’t board certified, put her new implants so close together that they touched, leaving her with what looked like one boob.

As for her eyes, the surgeon apparently tried to correct a scar on Rodriguez’ face, and not only was the procedure unwanted, it was a failure — Rodriguez now can’t close her eyes completely, a problem for which no corrective surgery exists.

The American Society of Plastic Surgeons is using the story — and the fact that Rodriguez has been so willing to go public with it, which is incredibly bold of her — to remind people to do research on their doctors before undergoing elective surgery. And we do endorse that notion.

Your body should be as nature intended. Plastic surgery should be only for fixing the body after an accident. Having said that, it’s very brave of her to go public

Your screen-name + your comment = pure irony gold.

I love this comment. If the person is going to surgery because of disease or accident, its proper. but surgery for beauty for people who are already perfect sounds like you dont appreciate God’s gift to you. I have small eyes, long black hair, a bit wavy. Perfect nose, yellow skin. My eyes although its not categorized as perfect, and my eye brow also, give me oriental unique look. And im very proud of that, so that I go always without make up. I only use cream to maintain the skin health. But no use of make up to cover my original look. Thanks im not that fake want to change my original look.

this is one of the consequences that patients will face if they seek the service of incompetent cosmetic surgeon.

There was nothing wrong with her in the before pictures so the only thing messed up was with her head.

Joe, you need to work on your reading comprehension before posting that “the only thing messed up was with her head”. Your right – there was nothing visibly wrong with her breasts in the before picture. That is because she had already had an augmentation at that point. The article clearly said “Rodriguez’ existing boob job was beginning to leak” and she went in to have it fixed. I am neither condemning nor endorsing implants as a whole but since you have no idea what her breasts looked like to begin with it is extremely judgmental and in poor taste to post an opinion like that online when you don’t have any facts to support it. For all we know she may have had a mastectomy and had them replaced with implants as a result.

i agree @molly and @rena, you should be responsible on your choices, and know your surgery well, from the pre and post operation. it lessen the risks.

Cosmetic surgeon should be responsible also, they should be competent enough to do the surgery and don’t give false promises.
