Superstar Beyonce landed the November cover of Harper’s Bazaar. The headline reads Beyonce: SEXY & Pregnant. In light of recent evidence that Beyonce’s baby bump is prosthetic, this is all very silly and manipulative.
Of course, she’s not showing in a single one of these Terry Richardson-lensed photos, but maybe that’s because the shoot took place before the performance began? Or perhaps she just removes her bump when she wants to emphasize the sexy part and downplay the pregnant part? Either way, we bet it’s pretty easy to be “empowered” by your pregnancy when you can just slide that sucker off.
This giant Pregnant! Beyonce! PR! Bonanza! has gotten a little rich for our blood, so we’ll just tell you straight out: conveniently, the singer is designing a maternity line! The collection will be an offshoot of the label she does with her mom, House of Dereon. Note the sound of eyeballs rolling everywhere. Says Bey:
“I love figuring out designs that still make me feel edgy and sexy while pregnant. Flowy fabrics are always flattering…but I still rock my stilettos.”
