Gallery: Harper’s Bazaar Re-Casts Famous Scorcese Films

Do you think the films of Martin Scorcese are perfect the way they are? That’s too bad, because Harper’s Bazaar thinks they’d be even better if they had Kate Bosworth, Michael Pitt, and Keanu Reeves in them. Well, maybe not, but it was a good enough excuse for them to play dress up with a bunch of celebrities they wanted to shoot. For their November issue, Harper’s Bazaar recreated scenes from six classic films with different actors than the ones originally in them.

PITT: Did you guys see me on Dawson’s Creek? Back in the day I was kind of a poor man’s Leonardo.

PIAZZA: You’re supposed to be Ray Liotta in this scene.

KINGSLEY: What am I doing here?

Also, Keanu as Travis Bickle. Wow. That is Movie Hell. Scorsese wouldn’t film that with a stolen camera.

Sacrilege. The thing I like most is that most think Scorcese can only do ‘ganster’. The man’s a true artist.

When I first saw the picture, before I processed the title or byline, I thought, “Oh, Jennifer’s talking about Newland Archer and Ellen Olenska again…” which I think sums up how good a job I think Kate Bosworth is done.

Although I believe she’s more famous for being Orlando Bloom’s ex-girlfriend than Blue Crush at this point.

      Kate Bosworth has done. Yeesh.

“For a fun thought experiment, try to imagine Keanu saying any of Robert De Niro’s lines.”

This is the. most. fun. thought experiment.

I see what you mean. I was curious though. Kate Bosworth is 28 in these photos, while Michelle Pfeiffer was 35 when the film was made. Again just one guy’s viewpoint, but I think Michelle is still very sexy now in her early 50s.
