Someone Thinks It’s A Good Idea To Make A Porn ‘Parody’ Of The DSK Rape Case

You know what’s hilarious? Sexual assault and miscarriage of justice!

Just kidding, those things are not hilarious at all. But that hasn’t stopped a production house called My Porn Company from attempting to raise 200,000 Euros to make a “porn parody” based on the short-lived rape case against Dominique Strauss-Kahn.

According to French news outlet The Local, the film will be called DXK and will star adult film actor Roberto Malone as “Dominique Sex King,” Sandra Romain as his wife, and Katia De Lys as the hotel maid.

This goes without saying, but it seems a bit tasteless even for a pornographer to make light of an alleged rape in this way. Porn parodies are supposed to be funny, and there’s nothing funny about this case at all. At best, DSK made some pretty bad decisions and a woman’s life was ruined; at worst, he sexually assaulted someone and never had to face justice for it because of the ridiculous expectations society places on rape victims’ “credibility.” Why would anyone want to add insult to injury by making a fucking joke out of it?

Don’t get me wrong: there is some niche fetish porn that involves simulated rape, and I’m okay with that. But the keyword there is simulated; everyone participating knows it’s purely a fantasy, and no one’s boundaries actually get crossed. I don’t think any reputable kinkster would endorse making light of an actual sexual assault, as that’s pretty much the opposite of “safe, sane, and consensual.”

I also think it bears mentioning that the purpose of parody is generally to bring something or someone down a few pegs: political figures, mainstream culture, etc. To parody someone who has no power to begin with is both cruel and unnecessary.

Disgusting, but I’m really not surprised. The porn industry (with some exceptions) has no concept of respect.

Wow. I already thought that porn parodies were somewhat tasteless (not the ones of movies or TV shows, but porn parodies of real people??), but this officially takes the cake.

“there is some niche fetish porn that involves simulated rape, and I’m okay with that.” Watching rape to get you off? Real or not, thats still sick. If that turns you on then theres something wrong with you.

Watching simulated rape scenarios in porn is not the same as “watching rape to get off”. It’s possible to be wholly disgusted by the real-world act of rape, yet turned on by fantasy rape scenarios in porn or roleplay with a partner. Also, it’s probably a lot more common than you would personally think, if you’re saying there’s something “wrong” with anyone who’s like this.

Innocent until proven guilty. That woman had a history of fabricating rape claims. She seems more likely to be the person in the wrong.

I find this posting disturbing. When I first read about the incident, everything in my mind pointed to him being guilty. But she made mistakes, and he had the most expensive lawyer money could buy. Stepping back, he was the IMF’s managing director on that day and was heading off to meeting with the Chancellor of Germany in one of the many, heated moments of the Euro debt crisis. An extremely important meeting as far as the stability of global financial makets at the time. Of course he never made it to that meeting. As is, the IMF has a moral upgrade in Christine Lagarde, his replacement.

Actually, that’s not surprising anymore :)
