Kardashians Now Knocking Off All The Designers

A little while back, accessories label Botkier noticed a pretty glaring similarity between one of their signature styles and a style offered as part of the Kardashian Kollection, a collaboration between Sears and Kim Kardashian plus her sisters, Kourtney and Khloe. The Kardashians ended up with a cease and desist and the bag came down off the website. More recently, jewelry designer Alexis Bittar said he won’t be lending Kim anymore of his pieces for the same reason.

Thankfully, the Kardashians have learned their lesson: if designers object to you stealing from them, just do it elsewhere. The sisters launched a line of handbags under the Kardashian Kollection banner exclusively in Australia and–surprise–a whole new generation of designer knock-offs was born.

Here, for example is the beloved-by-models Givenchy “Nightingale” bag, in beige:

Here’s the Kardashian Kollection’s tote:

Not compelling enough? Maybe this Foley + Corinna alongside its Kardashian Kollection counterpart:

That’s just what we saw in spending all of one minute glancing at the thumbnails, not to mention more than a few YSL imitations. Fashionista found a whole bunch more, like this blatent Balenciaga:

So, the Kardashians have now ripped off Botkier, Alexis Bittar and a whole slew of major luxury labels like Givenchy, Balenciaga, YSL and Proenza Schouler. Seeing as how their enemies list already includes all free-thinking individuals, it’s only a mater of time before they disappear!

Are you serious? They dont even look similar. Go to the mall and every handbag store will have designs that look like someone else’s bags.

    These bags look nothing alike

Yeah, maybe I’m not a handbag person, but all of the similarities look really incidental. As much as I revel in finding fault with the Kardashians, I’m gonna have to say this isn’t really rage-worthy.

Yeah, especially the middle one. The bottom one looks exceptionally similar, and the top one could be an extra-ugly version of the original, but the middle one doesn’t really look like the same bag to me.

I belive that all designers copy each other one way or another, i cant see anything that’s original. Many designs are hiding behind this new thing called ‘inspired by’ just to cover there backs.

The Kardashians should call their line the Klepto Kollection

I can definitely see the rip-offs being mentioned here, and certainly the Kardashians turn my stomach (please tell me there’s not some roundabout way they’re making money off of my reading this!) – however I would like to note that there is a significant portion of the population that will never shop the Givenchy, Balenciaga, YSL and Proenza Schouler lines because they simply can’t afford them. So yes, it’s artistically underhanded, but it’s not like they’re taking business away from the designer labels.
