Uncle Terry Shot Italian Vogue Editor Franca Sozzani For The Cover Of Industrie

Less than a year after she dismissed him by calling his work “trashy,” Italian Vogue (a.k.a. The Best Vogue) editor Franca Sozzani has allowed herself to be photographed by none other than Uncle Terry, for a newish magazine called Industrie. We know that this rag is way hip and knowledgeable about fashion, because it spells its name the French way. La mode, a la Francaise!

I’d say Richardson was trying to get back at her by photographing her under unflattering lighting and making her look kind of shiny and shell shocked, but he does that to everyone, so it’s probably not personal. And what’s up with that shiny jacket? I’m guessing it’s Prada and costs a dillion dollars, but to my eyes, it doesn’t look that different from something I would decline to spend $20 on at Rainbow because it was too tacky. Fashion is silly sometimes.

Anyway, did Franca Sozzani owe someone at Industrie a huge favor? Because that’s pretty much the only reason I can think of for her to willingly subject herself to the lens of someone she’s been openly hostile to in the past. I wouldn’t be surprised if she even went so far as to release a statement saying what a joy Uncle Terry was to work with and how wrong she was about him and/or how the language barrier made her sound like she disliked him more than she does, to which I say: spare us. You were right the first time.
