Video: Chloe Sevigny’s Closet Contains Bunny Ears, Bondage Accessories

At Home with Chloë Sevigny: Part 1 from Opening Ceremony on Vimeo.

In an effort to promote their latest collaboration with the eternally chic Chloe Sevigny, Opening Ceremony has released a charming (if poorly lit) video of Chloe going through her giant closet. The treasures she stores in there include the janky bunny ears from Gummo (which I did not realize she made), drawings Alber Elbaz has done of clothes he has designed for her, “tokens of her success” clipped out of newspapers and presented half-jokingly, and bondage accessories she purchased out of boredom while filming Big Love in LA. (I wonder if she went so far as to use them out of boredom?)

She also has a pretty rad Commes Des Garcons jacket which she says she has only worn once, and which I would be happy to take off her hands for her, should the self-described “hoarder” feel the need to purge her house of unwanted items. And then there are the Opening Ceremony clothes. I like their baggy, nineties silhouettes, but I don’t think I know anyone who’d pay $500 for one of those dresses when similar styles can be found at most vintage stores for under $50.

And then, of course, there’s the photo of Chloe backstage at a fashion show with Kate Moss, who is giving blue steel while Chloe stands meekly clutching a glass of champagne. Why can’t we see it better?? If OC wishes to use Chloe’s dorky, down-to-Earth image to sell us $350 skirts, it might behoove them to show us such enticing things in focus. Just sayin’.
