Pick Of The Week: Sturdy Boots For Winter

This week’s Pick Of The Week comes courtesy of my feet, which are really, really happy with my decision to wear these boots all the time. After over two years of owning them, I’m pretty sure they’re one of the best purchases I’ve ever made.

They’re called The Colorado Boot and they’re made by Jambu, and they’re available here and a ton of other places online. They’re not the cutest boots I’ve ever seen (go here to see the colorful boots I almost chose), but they’re not the ugliest, either, and what they lack in looks they more than make up for in functionality. The padded soles feel like walking on clouds, and they’re some of the only vegan boots I’ve found that will stretch enough to accommodate my deformed bunion bones. They’re pretty waterproof unless I wade into a really deep puddle, at which point the water will come in through the mesh netting at the back, but it’s a small price to pay for ventilation. I’ve worn these boots for hiking, sledding, and just getting around town in that horrible wintry mix that makes New York such a fun place to live in the winter, and they have yet to let me down. And no, they didn’t pay me to say that. (I wish.)
