Poll: Seriously, Are You Planning On Watching The Super Bowl?

There’s been a lot of talk about this Super Bowl thing that’s happening today. With kickoff just over an hour away — 6:25 pm ET, to be exact — we’re wondering just how many of you are at a Super Bowl party at this very moment counting down the minutes to the big game. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

So if you are at a party, what are you wearing? Did you get dressed up in your favorite team’s colors? Are you just there for the food? Do you actually like pigs in a blanket? Are you doing this just because you happen to date a football fan? Or is this all about seeing just how drunk you can get on a Sunday and still function in the office on Monday morning?

Yes, we’d like to know exactly what you’re doing right now. Don’t think of it as stalking, think of it as an interest in human behavior.

Sorry! This poll is now closed.

Damn, I love Downton Abbey, and as a Canadian, I don’t give a damn about football.

Kind of like how Americans don’t care about the Stanley Cup. (Even though American teams have won most of them…)

  • Brooke

I’m watching, I’m at a super bowl party now. Wearing jeans and a hoodie, no team colors. My team didn’t make it. But I’m pulling for my boyfriend’s team- go pats!

    • Amanda Chatel

I feel like I should be pulling for the pats for the sake of my dad, but after a lengthy lecture from a cabbie earlier today (a giants’ fan), I’m torn. Granted, I don’t care and will be drinking wine and waiting for Downton Abbey… but still. I’m glad we’re all pretty much on the same page here.

Also, I have NEVER had pigs-in-a-blanket… which based on Jenny’s comment, I misspelled…

  • Jenny

I’m in the same boat as Brooke. My team didn’t make it. Family is on there way over as I type to half-watch the game and intently watch the commercials.

    Who doesn’t love pigs-in-a-blanket?

Can I be honest? I didn’t even know it was Superbowl Weekend until yesterday. How did we get here that fast? Even my husband didn’t know!

  • Quin

I’m going to use “I was working” as an excuse, which is technically sort of true (I was supposed to work til 7 CST, but got off early. I saw some commercials and some of the pre-Super Bowl stuff on the tv at work before leaving)
But honestly, I don’t care enough to watch.

  • Kj

Nah, I only watch the “other” football, lol

    (Soccer. Duh.)

  • Shirley

So spot on! I honestly spent my Sunday catching up on Downton Abbey.

  • Fabel

I was grimly resigned to watching at least some of it, but I actually managed not to. Yay!

A few friends and I got together to watch the commercials, eat wings, and drink beer & wine. We had a blast! We were also all surprised by how MUCH clothing Madonna was in, and thought she did a much better job than we expected.
