Anti-Abortion, Pro-Gun Congressman Posts Onion Article To Demonstrate Evilness Of Planned Parenthood

The Onion is satire. (That means that their articles aren’t true.) But one person who apparently didn’t get this message is pro-life Congressman John Fleming, who posted a nearly year-old Onion article entitled “Planned Parenthood Opens $8 Billion Abortionplex” to his Facebook page on Friday. The article begins:

Planned Parenthood announced Tuesday the grand opening of its long-planned $8 billion Abortionplex, a sprawling abortion facility that will allow the organization to terminate unborn lives with an efficiency never before thought possible.

Accompanying the post was the message: “More on Planned Parenthood, abortion by the wholesale.”

Aside from the fact that the notion of a medical procedure being available “wholesale” doesn’t make sense, Planned Parenthood is in fact not opening an abortionplex. There’s no such thing as an abortionplex. Fleming and his ilk just latch on to anything negative that they can find about Planned Parenthood, without, apparently, even checking to see that they were dealing with a real news source.

Still, if it were true, this Onion article would have provided some fuel for Fleming’s stance on abortion, which is:

Abortion is a pernicious evil. It is the wanton taking of innocent human life for the selfish reasons of others. Abortion is an evil predicated upon lies. The lie that unborn babies are just masses of cells or blobs of tissue. The lie that one class of human has the right to kill another.

Just for fun, I thought I’d go ahead and post Fleming’s opinion about gun control, too. You know, to show how unwavering he is about the sanctity of human life:

The 2nd Amendment simply recognizes our God-given right to self-defense. Law-abiding American citizens have a right to keep and bear arms.

In summary: Life is sacred. Heck, it’s the most sacred thing around. No one should have the right to take someone else’s life away. But everyone should have the right to own a gun…a gun that can kill people.

    Hahaha! Well done sir.

I think I’m going to go to the dentist tomorrow and then drop by the abortionplex on the way home. I’ve been meaning to get an abortion for a while now…

Every law abiding citizen who wants to take responsibility for their own safety should be allowed to own a gun; I live on the border between two cities, and the last time a neighbor called 911, the police departments spent hours arguing about whose jurisdiction it was and never sent anyone.
Having said that, I apologize for the ignorant voters who elected this imbecile simply because of his 2nd Amendment views. Clearly, stupidity shines through any good intentions. In fact, I doubt he really has any.

Good God, how does someone THIS stupid get elected to public office? Just further proof that these people aren’t elected because they know how to do their jobs, but because they happen to know how to say whatever people want to hear, Mitt Romney is a prime example of this.

A rational, thinking person would have Googled this, and done just the slightest bit of research. That’s only if the rational, thinking person didn’t just immediately write it off as a joke in the first place.

Guy should be walking dogs for a living.

    Seriously
    there’s a difference between murder and self-defense.

let’s grow up with the rhetoric (oh yeah, I forgot I’m on TheGloss.com)
