This New Lanvin Campaign Is Extremely Unsettling

When you think of snakes in fashion, you may think of oversexed Milan-based labels like Versace or Roberto Cavalli. You might think of this Alexander McQueen campaign for Spring 2012. You might also think of Daphne Guinness, if you know your fashion vocabulary. What probably doesn’t spring to mind is arid French house Lanvin, with all its good taste and classy acolytes like Julianne Moore and Tilda Swinton.

Now, thanks to Steven Meisel, Lanvin adds a little something sinister to the brand with this deeply unsettling Spring 2012 campaign. The set stars one of our absolute favorite girls of the moment, Aymeline Valade, along with Marte Mei van Haaster, Aaron Vernon and Angus Lowe. Biggest congrats to van Haaster, though–yet another Dutch beauty–for landing her first major campaign.

So. Do frightening shots like these put you in the mood for $3000 cocktail dresses?
