Angelina Jolie & Her Leg At The Academy Awards: Ridiculous Or Extremely Ridiculous?

So far, the Oscars have been mostly boring. Emma Stone was cute, Christopher Plummer and the hot Conchord won statues, and Angelina Jolie did an absurd thing: while presenting an award for something–who can keep track?–she strolled onto the stage in a clitoris-skimming Atelier Versace, kicked out her leg, put her hand on her hip and offered up a shit-eating grin (as she did above, on the red carpet). We laughed out loud.

I think this article is obnoxious and ridiculous. And why isnt sexy an option? Because it was SEXY! There were actresses showing a lot of skin so why pick on Angelina. She worked it at the Oscars! She was Hot!

When she was walking to the microphone I swear I thought that slit would expose her vadge! She looked pretty stupid posing like that. It was almost Lea Michelle-esque when she kept sticking her leg out at the SAG awards. But alas, her leg continuously distracted me from her anorexic arms..yet when she tried to speak in a sultry manner while presenting she kept stumbling on her words. She shouldn’t try so hard, I remember years ago, when she actually ate and oddly enough was collecting vials of blood she looked much better.

Also, kudos to Jim Rash for mocking her silly pose.

@ let’s be honest ill be honest with you, there was nothing wrong with her pose. The dress is designed to show off leg so she worked the dress the way it was meant to be worked on the RC. why dont people consider a dress showing off boobs ridiculous? Its because people over react and are obnoxious. She worked it! And looked sexy! Also the dress is designed to have the hands on hip pose. All she did was doing right. Do people get paid to hate on her?

@By cee , im not saying you accept dramatic boob dress, but people like you overlook those dresses and prob dont even notice the revealing skin. But people notice it because Angelina made a posed. Whos to say she didnt purposely make that pose when presenting. Im calling people hypocrites for not even noticing how revealing a dress can be, but a pose catches their attention? Wow.

  Anyways, I do not overlook dresses with any skin reveal. If someone must stand at half lunge to get noticed its a little sad, really, you MUST at the very least concede that. She’s worn many a slitted gown before where she has looked fine without needing to do this and has been told she looked amazing, sexy and all that jazz. Also, if she did not purposely make that pose, I fear for her joints and should seek some vitamin supplements.

I don’t think people are saying its ridiculous because it showed skin, they’re saying it was ridiculous because it looked uncomfortable/was not a natural way to stand. It was too “look at me” but hey – she just gave the audience what they wanted and I admired the confidence that she has. She doesn’t give a shit (or she gives that impression she could be crying right now about this but I really doubt that).

  Actually the audience can be heard laughing when she struck the pose and it was noted that she put her leg away after Rash mocked her. So she did not give THAT audience or the general viewing population what they wanted as everyone seems to agree that it was a bit…odd. But I think her overzealous fanatics loved it as they seem to fervently defend her on this site and many others.

  I think if Brad had not stepped, completely aside it wouldn’t have drawn as much attention as it did. And it wasn’t intentional on his part, he was just giving her more limelight. Granted if a woman wants to show her leg, she should wear a dress that compliments her legs.

I think it was funny because Angelina has always had this “I don’t really care,” attitude. She normally seems super aloof. So to see her standing there like a tween attempting to “pose sexy” and get attention was just hysterical.

Honestly, who didn’t pose like that in idiotic pictures with their 10 year old friends? It just looked like she was trying soooo hard.

I’m probably giving her too much credit, but the pose plus the expression made me think she was enjoying being silly: “Look at me, I’m a *pageant grin* MOVIE STAR!” I think she and Brad Pitt have often had their talent (seriously, go watch Girl, Interrupted and tell me that she isn’t a fantastic actress) overshadowed by their MOVIE STAR personae/good looks, so it was kind of a campy moment for me.
