Shockingly, Karl Lagerfeld Insults Someone Else But Doesn’t Use ‘Fat’ For A Change

Oh, Karl. Why so grumpy? At the rate you’re insulting people, you’re going to have even less friends than me! No one likes a grumpy-grump, you grumpster!

If you recall, earlier this year Newsweek‘s Robin Givhan gave her honest opinion about the Chanel designer, and even dared to call him “overrated.” She also cited that Karl, although talented (so talented he rips off other designers’ work), he, unlike some other designers doesn’t usually get the criticism when criticism is due. No one probably wants to criticize him because he’s scary as hell and will more than likely call you “fat,” even if you’re not. Because that’s how Karl rolls.

So now thanks to her frankness on the Karl front, the “friendly” designer is lashing out yet again. Although it was Givhan who made the actually statements, Karl has decided to take his aim at Newsweek’s editor in chief, Tina Brown instead:

“First of all, Tina Brown’s magazine is not doing well at all,” he said before ripping into the credibility of the story. “She is dying,” he continued. “I’m sorry for Tina Brown, who was such a success at Vanity Fair, to go down with a shitty little paper like this. I’m sorry.”

Oh, Karl. First of all, we’re all dying. It’s called life. Secondly, “shitty little paper?” If it’s so “shitty,” you wouldn’t have your undies in a bunch over it and you would have stayed mum. What this really comes down to is Karl being a grumpy-grump and not dealing with criticism. I feel you, Karl; I, too, get pretty nasty when someone spits on my parade, but the difference between you and me, is I’m not a famous grumpy-grump so no one really cares.

Chin up, Karl! If this is the worst thing that ever happens to you, then you’re doing all right. Anyone want to make bets on how long it will be before he calls Tina Brown fat, too? It is his schtick after all.

On a side note, Tina isn’t exactly “dying.” Since she took over at Newsweek, newsstand sales have increased 30%, with sales for ad pages increasing by 27%. So once again, Karl has his shit wrong. Oh, Karl.
