Stanley Tucci Talks About How Fat Jennifer Lawrence Is

jennifer lawrence fat

Oh my goodness, Stanley Tucci! Look at you talking about Jennifer Lawrence‘s fat!

Or rather, how her fat is non-existent, and the fact that anyone is saying she is too fat for the Hunger Games is crazy. Oh, sorry, not “fat”. She’s just “big boned”. Tucci, who plays the talk-show host Caesar Flickerman in the Hunger Games told Buzzfeed:

“”Big-boned? They should go make their own movie! That’s it, that’s all you can say. That’s ridiculous, a ridiculous statement. I think [Jennifer Lawrence] is great, no matter how big her bones are, and they’re not big! She’s gorgeous.”

If you need confirmation of this fact, please see the above picture of Jennifer Lawrence. For the record, this is not fat by the stretch of any sensible imagination.

You know who seems sensible? Stanley Tucci. Good for you for being a decent, perceptive human being, Stanley Tucci. Gold stars!

Bit of a misleading headline, don’t you think?

It’s not that Jennifer Lawrence is fat. It’s that she’s too fat for the role.

Having worked in the film industry for eight years, I cannot stress enough how dangerous this mentality is for actresses.

Take an actress the size of, say, Kristen Stewart. I have seen and worked with her on many occasions. On screen, she looks like a normal, albeit thin, young woman.

In person, she is so tiny that she does not look like an adult. Seriously, most people who have never seen a young Hollywood actress in real life cannot fathom how tiny these women are. But get them on camera, blow them up on a screen — suddenly, they look bigger. Normal, even.

For an actress to fit the thin, emaciated condition that Katniss is described as having in the Hunger Games, she would have to reach around the size that Natalie Portman was in Black Swan — which both she and the director have admitted was incredibly unhealthy. Yes, it would have been possible. But was it necessary? Absolutely not. Sure, they could have found another actress, but she ***literally*** would have had to have been emaciated in order to portray the image that everyone has in their heads about how Katniss is “supposed” to look.

How about, instead, we focus on the fact that she is a healthy young actress who brought incredible talent and vitality to the role?

No, shes not fat, she is perfectly normal. But Katniss is supposed to be a girl who has starved most of her life, and in the book she can count her ribs, and her hipbones are sticking out., and she is trying to gain weight. So, Yes, I think she is a bit to big to play Katniss.

Can’t you just keep your rude comments to yourself? Jennifer Lawrence is not even CLOSE to being “Fat” or “Big Boned” She’s perfectly fine. Honestly, I think she’s perfect for the part. If you have nothing nice to say, don’t say anything at all. -.-
