How To Spruce Up Your Head As If You’re Birthday Girl Ali MacGraw

Although she was known for her long pin-straight hair that was always parted down the middle, actress Ali MacGraw also made a major impact on the fashion of the 1970′s. It was a little movie called Love Story that pushed MacGraw into the world of Hollywood stardom making her the ‘It’ girl for a hot minute.

As Jenny Cavilleri, the girl from the wrong side of the tracks who falls for rich fella Oliver (played by Ryan O’Neal), MacGraw immediately became known for just how perfectly she encapsulated the American college-girl look of the early 1970′s in Love Story. Each scene showed another plaid skirt, warm fall colors, clogs (a 1970′s must) as well as a proper trench coat — even Calvin Klein said that “She (McGraw) exemplified the great American Style” of the time. But it wasn’t just from the movie screen that MacGraw inspired, it was her day-to-day outfits as well as her penchant for cute caps and hair wraps that women everywhere were trying to pull off.

Whether you’re going skiing this weekend in the Alps, heading off to a Halston-themed party or simply lounging on your couch here are a few ideas on how to spruce up your head thanks to birthday girl, Ali MacGraw.
