Courtney Stodden Responds Maturely To Very Immature ‘Gossip Girl’ Slam

So, if you’re a grown-up writer of a TV show — like, say, “Gossip Girl” — regardless of the fact that you’re writing for teenage characters, you probably should steer clear of mocking real-life kids. And yes, I know that Courtney Stodden doesn’t look like a regular teenager, and is married, and is famous, but guess what? That doesn’t make it OK for grown-ups to slam her.

And yet, one did. The reason I know this is because the slam was aired on “Gossip Girl” last night. Too Fab reports:

After consummating their new relationship in an elevator on last night’s episode, Blair (Leighton Meester) and Dan (Penn Badgley) referenced the 17-year-old when talking about the lackluster experience.

“That was terrible … like the least sexy thing since Courtney Stodden,” Blair lamented after their tryst — with Dan adding “I don’t know who that is but it’s much worse.”

Fortunately, even though whoever wrote that jab (which, BTW, wasn’t even funny — if you’re going to do something shitty in the name of making a joke you could at least have the decency to make it a good joke) acted like a child, Stodden herself responded with surprising class (sexual class, but class nevertheless). She tweeted:

Oh Blair… If Dan was with me, I would have shown him a waaay better time! xxx @gossipgirl

Well played, Stodden. Well played.

If you don’t think it’s ok for grown ups to insult Courtney Stodden then why are the ADULT writers of this website constantly doing it?

        POW!

        Touché!

Pretty much this. You guys insult her all the time. We were all embarrassing at 17, imagine if we had her money and infamy?

    • Sam

That’s what I was thinking the entire article.

      • Sam

Oops. That was supposed to be in reply to Anya.

I don’t know… I think if you put yourself out there the way she does, she has to take the good with the bad. She begs for attention, she gets attention.

She did handle that in a surprisingly classy manner though, since she is anything but classy haha

I disagree, that was very funny!

If she wants to act like she is all grown up then she can take it like a grown up!! There is nothing wrong with the writiers AT ALL!

    • Sno

She is famous? Wow, what a dumb article and a complete waste of time!

I don’t see anything wrong with insulting her. if she wants to be an adult and get as much attention as she can than insulting her on television is indulging that need. You think the big bad grown ups should stop picking on the poor 18 year old? Please!
