So, if you’re a grown-up writer of a TV show — like, say, “Gossip Girl” — regardless of the fact that you’re writing for teenage characters, you probably should steer clear of mocking real-life kids. And yes, I know that Courtney Stodden doesn’t look like a regular teenager, and is married, and is famous, but guess what? That doesn’t make it OK for grown-ups to slam her.
And yet, one did. The reason I know this is because the slam was aired on “Gossip Girl” last night. Too Fab reports:
After consummating their new relationship in an elevator on last night’s episode, Blair (Leighton Meester) and Dan (Penn Badgley) referenced the 17-year-old when talking about the lackluster experience.
“That was terrible … like the least sexy thing since Courtney Stodden,” Blair lamented after their tryst — with Dan adding “I don’t know who that is but it’s much worse.”
Fortunately, even though whoever wrote that jab (which, BTW, wasn’t even funny — if you’re going to do something shitty in the name of making a joke you could at least have the decency to make it a good joke) acted like a child, Stodden herself responded with surprising class (sexual class, but class nevertheless). She tweeted:
Oh Blair… If Dan was with me, I would have shown him a waaay better time! xxx #gossipgirl@gossipgirl
Well played, Stodden. Well played.
