Why Is Lush Doing This To A Woman?

lush cosmetics animal testing

A 24 year old at Lush Cosmetics was recently subjected to 10 hours of force feeding and injections. Because the new CEO of Lush is a gentleman with a penchant for white face powder that you may know as Pinhead.

This guy wants to offer you an exfoliant.

No, not really. It’s an animal rights thing. The Daily Mail reports that:

Jacqueline volunteered for her starring role in the deliberately shocking performance to underline a campaign aimed at drawing attention to the pain and cruelty inflicted on animals during laboratory tests on cosmetics.

Dressed in nothing but a flesh-coloured body stocking, she was put on display in the shop window of Lush cosmetic store’s branch in Regent Street, London, to re-enact widely used tests.

The ‘cruelty-free’ chain is helping to spearhead a Humane Society International campaign to end cosmetic testing on animals.

So, that’s certainly attention-grabbing, and possibly noble. I don’t know if it would necessarily change your opinion on animal rights testing – because animals are not people – but maybe!

Also, I’m really, really sad that Lush isn’t being taken over by pinhead because it would have given them such an exciting new line of products.

Today a female zookeeper got killed by an elephant she was attending. Animal activists were thrilled to find this out. They made lots of comments commending the elephant and saying this woman’s death was well deserved. While being a zookeeper is not the same as animal torture in labs. I think that when people do this. They cannot gain the support that they want because they seem to lose their humanity and sanity for this.

Anyway, stick a ball in her mouth and she looks like shes in a sex game.

I personally don’t buy from cosmetic companies that test on animals. It’s not like you have to go out of your way to find companies, from drugstore to department store, that don’t. I mean, is animal testing worth it? For a little eyeshadow? I feel better about animal testing for human medicine…

This is torture porn. This being show in a store window where children could see shows just how low we think of human beings. This is disgusting and I never have and now never will buy any Lush products.

It’s very extreme, I didn’t want to watch the video. Even so, just imagining my pets being subjected to force feeding and experimentation makes me feel uneasy. This woman has actually made the impact that will influence my future purchases. I think it’s insane, I would probably never do anything close to this, but it caught my attention, and I think that is what matters.

There’s absolutely zero justification for testing cosmetics on animals. People should know what they’re supporting with their dollars, so good on her for spreading the truth! I might have gone with a video of the actual labs, but that’s because I am a coward.
