‘Sextastic Sexpert’ Sara Hoots Is Here To Make Your Sex Life A Lot Less Complicated

Meet Sara Hoots, everyone!

Here at The Gloss, we’re all about giving and receiving. As someone whose filthy mind is consistently in the gutter, I could make a sex-related pun here, but will take the adult route no matter how difficult it may be for me.

I’m talking about giving and receiving love, of course.

In case you’re late to the party, we have recently hooked up with Gurl because as we all know two is better than one especially when it comes to advice in the love and sex department. Enter: Sara Hoots of Gurl‘s video series “Sexy Times.” Sara is candid and honest in her advice on exactly how you should be tackling sex and all things sex-related. We’re all doing it, so if that’s the case we should be open about it and embrace ourselves as the sexual beings we are!

From masturbation to the intricacies of telling a guy just how and where you like it, Sara is your go-to gal on pretty much any topic. The best part is she does it all in a relatable fun way as opposed to some boring how-to manual that your grammy probably handed to your mom on her wedding night. With a feminist approach (read: we’re not sluts just because we want to get down and dirty), and a voice that rings true for young women everywhere, we’d like to welcome Gurl and Sara into the love lair that is The Gloss.

One can never have too many intelligent and open-minded women in their lives, so do yourself and your sex life a favor by subscribing to the “Sexy Times” channel and following the lovely Ms. Hoots on Twitter immediately.

it would be nice to see some “sexperts” featured that represent people OTHER than perky white heteronormative blondes :/

      • Cee

The other sexpert on the channel is Lena Chen, she’s Asian, if that satisfies you any. Most magazines and sexpert (not to mention porn) sites cater to heteronormative roles. There are many sites that don’t they are just not advertised enough. I know plenty! Look around! There are some good ones. Autostraddle is a good one to start with if you are looking for something other than heteronormative.

Did the gloss look at the hairpin, see that many comments from the advice columns, and decide to get an advice column for the comments? Are you looking at things that will get you the most hits? Where I do enjoy the occasional sex-related article on the gloss I wonder where a ‘sexpert’ fits into the fold. I don’t know whether or not she gives good advice, but either way doesn’t this make the site slip even further into ‘cosmo’ territory? I mean, the way it is now there are more celebrity articles than fashion articles. And I do love the social commentary you all do. But, as a daily reader, I wonder where this fits into the site, and whether or not it’s just a cheap ploy to get more hits and comments.

Well, the powers that be, hooked us up with Gurl… so since they’re our new sister site, we’re all about support. Of course, as a reader, you’re allowed to pick and choice what you read and relates to your life.

We’re fortunate enough that our demographic is VERY widespread… so what might not fit for you, might fit for another.

But then again, this is coming from someone whose major sex advice comes from notes she makes to herself when she’s drunk. I kid!

        Or do I?

xo. The Chatel (that’s my new thing.)

… So what I got from that was, “It wasn’t our choice but we’re optimistic.”

(Also, confused as to why you didn’t make a ‘Hoots’ joke. Hooters? Give a wHoot?(Also, is Sara Hoots a real name? It’s incredibly cute… suspiciously cute.))

      • Amanda Chatel

Because I’m only capable of making sex puns, silly! “Giving a ‘hoot’” never even crossed my mind… argh!

    • Georgie

Wow that wasn’t really groundbreaking was it? She seems like she should be talking to teenagers, granted you do have a wide demographic. Is sexpert a job? Does she have any credentials? I feel like you guys are very open about sex already…the majority of your readers probably aren’t shocked that liking sex isn’t slutty. But yeah as was said above, if you’re doing this under duress good for you (we are too)
