One Million Moms Group Slams JC Penney For Lesbian Photo, Is Dumb

In JCPenney’s new catalog, a photo appears of a same-sex couple and their two daughters. The caption identifies the women as “Wendi and her partner Maggie.”

Seems benign enough, right? Well, not if your sole goal in life is channeling your disappointment with your own life into hating other people for no reason. The group One Million Moms — which is a project of the American Family Association, and is the same group that attempted to boycott JCPenney’s use of Ellen DeGeneres as a spokeswoman — is speaking out against the atrocity of two women loving each other (no word as to whether they actually have one million moms on their side or not).

Demanding that the company take a “neutral stand” on the “cultural war,” One Million Moms writes on their website:

It is obvious that JCP would rather take sides than remain neutral. JCP will hear from the other side so they need to hear from us as well…Managers will also have to answer to corporate for the loss in sales from traditional families…we will no longer be able to shop with them until they take a neutral stand.

I don’t know about you, but sometimes when I read shit like this I like to imagine that I’m reading it from 50 years in the future. Inevitably, it sounds even more horribly ignorant and bigoted than it already does, the same way that racist and sexist rants from the 1950s sound today.

Can you believe how people thought about things back then?

The catalog this picture is in came in the mail to my job (for reasons I can’t explain, it’s a cupcakery. Apparently cupcakes need JCP outfits, or something.) and I saw it and thought it was a beautiful and tasteful picture of a perfectly acceptable and happy family.
What’s up with people having this inherent need to be an asshole? Boycotting a huge store for one picture in a catalog, when every other picture is of (presumably) heterosexual mothers/families? How neutral of them.

Who ever is designing/organizing JCP’s ad campaign needs to be given 1 billion dollars! I love this. I think its so AWESOME! And all the ad’s that I’m seeing on TV are just as great. My favorite by far has to be the one with the dog jumping through a hoop.

But kudos to JCP. I hope they are not cowed by this group and they keep up the good work.

Actually, I hate JCP’s latest marketing concept of the no sale prices thing. But I will always support any type of loving family, whether it be man-woman, man-man, or woman-woman.

normally I would never shop there but the fact that they’re doing all of this is making me want to go buy socks or something

.How dare you “shove your beliefs down our throats”! LOL

The real hypocrits are the “tolerant” (and judgemental) Chistiphobes.

We followers of Christ judge no one. We are the messengers of God’s Word that judges everyone and saves all who repent and believe on Him, as He is revealed in Scripture. We Christians have God’s Word and time on our side. We fear no one of this world.

Thanks for bringing this ad to my attention, though. My recent “return” to JCP just ended.

Repent! Believe! Salvation has come from the Lamb of God, the Christ! Thanks be to God!
