Charlize Theron must have felt bad that the overwhelming majority of people thought she was way better dressed than Kristen Stewart at the Snow White and the Huntsman premiere the other day, because that’s the only way I can explain what she wore to a different Snow White premiere earlier today in Madrid.
While Kristen opted for a cute, buckle-y, BCBG Max Azria dress vaguely reminiscent of the film’s medieval styles, Charlize wore a supremely unflattering red dress by Giambattista Valli, who I am beginning to think is just not a very good designer. Rather than flattering her bodacious bod, it wrinkles weirdly at the boobs, which it also flattens out. The shoulders aren’t doing her any favors, either…puffed sleeves can look super cute, but these are puffed in such a way that makes her look like her arms are hanging off her neck. Also: she looks artificially hulking. Nice work, Giambattista Valli, on making one of the most beautiful women in the world look like a deformed linebacker.
I know Charlize and Kristen are friends and all, but switching off who gets to be best/worst dressed is not a great publicity strategy. Then again, maybe they’re messing with us all. If they switch back again for the next premiere, I’ll know for sure.
