Fashion Disasters: Carly Rae Jepsen Dressed Like A 12-Year-Old

As our buddies at Crushable noted earlier, “Call Me Maybe” singer Carly Rae Jepsen is taking some shit for her cutesy wardrobe. The photo up top there is what Jepsen wore to walk the red carpet at last night’s Billboard Music Awards. Quibbles about the dark lipstick and boring dress aside, it’s a totally appropriate outfit for her 26 years of age.

However!

This is what Jepsen wore in the press room:

Yeesh. We guess no single element–the sequin top, the rings, the neon accessories, the platform sneakers, the blunt bangs, the pants, oh the pants–is necessarily inappropriate for a 26-year-old, but all of it together is… ridiculous.

    Hmm..eh I don’t know whats wrong about dressing youngish. It’s refreshing at times to not be in such a rush. Dakota and Elle Fanning dress to look older. I guess as long as its not desperate. At almost 26, I have days where I still wear a marvel tshirt (nerd alert), jeans and converse.

    I just don’t like that the lines on her pants seem to lead to her vagina.

    Her song is too young for her as well. She is probably marketed as a 14 year old. The song makes me want to smack her, maybe.

    I took an informal poll of guys I know to see how much they hate “Call Me Maybe” . . . and they all love it. They love it. Age range: 19-36.

    I say leave the girl alone, she is adorable and who really cares how people dress. If you like her listen to her and if you don’t ? Don’t.
