‘Devil Wears Prada’ Is Getting A Sequel

Remember that time that we all learned what is was really like to work at Vogue, courtesy of Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep? Well, there’s more where that came from: author Lauren Weisberger is reportedly penning a new book that catches up with Hathaway’s character Andrea eight years later, when she’s editing a fancy bridal magazine and planning her own wedding. Also, Emily, played amazingly by Emily Blunt in the movie, is now Andrea’s best friend (because life always works out perfectly!!!).

Anyway, here’s a little more (read: how they will bring Meryl Streep back into the movie even though if this were real life she would have absolutely nothing to do with Andrea ever again):

[Andrea] remains haunted by her impeccably heeled former boss — and the magazine world being as small as it is, it’s only a matter of time before she hears the dreaded syllables “Ahn-dre-ah!” again.

Will you read and watch the new version?

Seeing as I’ve seen that movie almost as many times as Breakfast at Tiffany’s, I have two words: f*ck. yes.

Loved the book and the movie. Weisberger’s last few books haven’t been that great (I’ve read them) and haven’t sold very well. I think she’s just trying to capitalize on this story again. I want the sequel to be good but I doubt that it will be.

I didn’t read “The Devil Wears Prada” but I saw the movie, and I liked it. But then I did read, “Last Night at Chateu Marmont” and wasn’t that impressed. It seemed kind of like the same story line as DWP just moved over to a different industry (music).

My disappointment in that book could have been that from the title(my friend who I stole the book from lost the jacket) I thought I was going to be reading a vintage-esque murder-mystery type thing and was sadly mistaken… Either way, I don’t think I’ll be reading this new book.
